FIRST WORDS OF ISSUE 10! ======================== Hello everybody!!! Complex is again presenting a new issue of Maggy for you. New routine is made by Proton of Complex. Releasing was delayed because Proton's amiga broke down. That's why. Future issues will be more advanced than this one. This time Mic Dair did all editing because i wasn't avaible during July and this issue will be released in the end of July. So BIG thanks to Mic Dair! If you didn't know by now there have been many changes in Complex Crew...some guys were kicked out and some taken in...Python, Mr.Niceguy and Zoltar are out! And Braggart, Cockatrice (again), Dean and Der HM are now taken to Complex Crew. Hopefully these new members are doing great job for Maggy in future. Now we have two boards here in Finland so all articles for Maggy can be downloaded to them. Please notice that Maggy is still in English...so no articles in finnish or any other languages. This isn't understood 100% because we still got big bunch of articles written in finnish.(Hello to Orion and Procoyn of Equinox!) These articles won't be released...sorry guys! BUSTED OR NOT BUSTED... ======================= In the news of last issue (9) of | After couple of chats I finally made MAGGY was a text 'Hyde and Mic Dair/ |him convinced that it was a joke... Complex are busted by police...'. |But one of his friends still had a Well, as few people know it was just a|strange attitude about us...He even joke. Police just asked our ID-papers,|threatened to use violence against and it was no computerbusiness at all.|Mic Dair...btw. Mic Dair actually didn't |take part in our 'joke'... So if u still hear some rumours about| us, you can be sure that we ain't | Ok, that's it...now you should know really busted. |that we ain't busted by anyone... Yeps, it was just a joke...but some | Well, sorry if you lost your peace of guys didn't understand it...perhaps my|mind...No hard feelings...at least from 'sick' joke was too harsh and complex |me. to understand. Atleast a local modem- | swapper was really afraid of police | then he heard that i was busted. So he| started to hide his equipments & | format disks. He called some locals | and told them what had happened to | YOURS : HYDE/COMPLEX me... | ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ But then it was time to tell him that| it was just a joke...ofcourse he didnt| like it...First he even didn't believe| that it was a joke.... |
NEWCOMERS by Grendel / Byterapers Inc. There has been strange comments by newcomers about us, the OLD ELITE-groups. "what's so good at you", "what makes you better than we are", "where are you demos?" has a SONIC-lamer said to Hoffi/BS. No respect at all. Even Bloodsuckers is always better than some Sonic, even without making anything. BS is old group, and HAS MADE more than it's part for scene. Most groups come and go, live just for half-year, or year. BS's been around since 88 or 89, and has released more demos & all than some SONIC can never dream about. It doesn't matter they haven't released anything for some time. THEY DON'T NEED TO. Bloodsuckers are famous already, because what THEY HAVE ALREADY DONE. What's the most important, they have all the abililities to continue making good products, if they want to. But same sickness has struck them, that sticks into each old group that exists long enough. LAZYNESS. When one has done enough work, they need rest. And scene is sometimes stressing thing, I have noticed it personally. Once I was a big, fast swapper on 64. I started on 85 by tape, 86 by drive and 88 was the fastest Finnish swapper. Why? I had 150 (yes it's true) contacts at once (at once, repeat), and you can imagine what work it was. I even quitted school to swap (true!). I got money by writing to magazines, and that money was used to swapping. 30 sendings a day on 64, for a long time. Finally the stress came. I had to drop contacts, and finally quit swapping. Pause, swapped then on Amiga, but had to stop. BURN-OUT had happened. Until this date, ANY swapping has been a nightmare to me, TWO YEARS AFTER THE BURN-OUT. Each old group sometimes reaches the point when they get lazy. Some groups just die. Some continue exist but do nothing. Some exist, and try do something and VERY FEW manage to rise again. Finnish examples: COMPLEX-->
Bloodsuckers exist but do nothing. Complex are again rising up, after long time of invisibility. Accession exist but do nothing. Byterapers tried to rise, fell, were almost dead 3 months and try to rise once again. Wizzcat was silent for a long time, but have risen again. Digitize Design Group exist but do nothing. Finnish Gold has practically died. X-Men has practically died. Beyond Force were almost disappeared, then rose again, and have currently sunk a bit as they're converting from 64 to Amiga. SO WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT IN SAYING "WHAT'S SO DIFFERENT AT YOU" or "WHERE ARE YOUR DEMOS?". Fuck we have already done our part, and if we continue to exist all you newcomers should be glad of it, not asking where are our products. We, the old groups and the OLD ELITE GUYS, have developed the scene for you. If you don't have any respect for us, you better sell you computer and go fishing. Hoffi didn't get free entrance to Sonic's party, which then didn't even exist. Hoffi deserves his free entrance, if he wishes so. I've never begged for free in (mostly I've arranged the parties), but Hoffi has his principle on free entrance - DON'T NEWCOMERS GO ON FUCKING TO HIM - HE'S BEEN IN SCENE FAR LONGER THAN YOU, and done more than you will never do. He wouldn't be that famous, if he was some dickhead as some others. I heard I personally have got some strange critism from newcomers too. "What that Grendel thinks he is?". Trying to be boss of (B), telling guys what to do and throwing guys out of Byterapers while he does nothing. And is the only one in world who thinks Byterapers is alive, when all know it's fucking dead. CONTINUE-->
HAHAA what fuck that is.. I am me, Grendel. I boss (B) because I am the founder & leader. I've always bossed the group, and it's all my own creation. I made Byterapers big on 64, I found & guided the guys who made it possible, I worked hard for it - I THOUGHT IT AS A JOB, WORK, not as hobby. I succeeded in it, but hard work for 2 years it was. On Amiga we have never been so big, but the 64 memories live, and I AM FUCKING PROUD OF IT. Go on asking any 64-guy. I made Byterapers the 9th best cracking crew in the world at 89. It has always been my group, my creation and has always lived with me. When I'm down group is down but when I'm inspired group starts rising again. And I bet I know my group better than anyone else in the world,better than any newcomer who never had 64 and has been in scene for one year. I think I know better if it's alive or not - from February to April group was practically dead, but I've now worked to get it on its feet again, and now Byterapers is going to rise again. Guys are working and products are coming, but this time MY group works on different basis than NEVER BEFORE. So stop speaking shit. Newcomers are disease in the scene. They don't know anything about the past, give a strange look if you say Pure Byte, Warriors Of Darkness, Megaforce, Fusion, Ikari or Ackerlight. They don't respect the old guys or old groups. But....The Scene would also wither without them. What to do?
HARLEY-DAVIDSON - two men, one dream! Driving down to sunset. Highway opens against your very eyes. The feeling is stunning. You hold your breath and just drive. Hairs are fluttering behind your shoulders. You can feel the freedom. Nothing is able to stop you now. The engine is purring with its low sound. This is life, you think. This is life. That was the dream of two men named as William S. Harley and Arthur Davidson. Their company was founded in Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee early this century. At the beginning it was just a hobby for both of them. But after building their first one cylinder engine for their new motorcycle, they realized that this was to be the work of the future. Those days motorcycles were used only for transportation and a bit later for racing. People didn't trust too much to those new machines as they caused so many death accidents on the roads. Many times in local races the bodies were often founded not until the whole race was over, when the competitors were able to see some- thing under the dust. But motorcycles kept their positions and so did Harley- Davidson too. New bikes started to exist as many little companies were inte- rested in them. People saw soon, that it was much easier and faster to move with bikes instead of cars. But the big revolution was still to come. Harley-Davidson took its place as one of the best motorcycle companies already in the very beginning. It had only a few considerable competitors like Indian or Excelsior. But as the time went by they dropped off. In 1929 Harley-Davidson came up with a new model, which was named as H-D 74. It was already a success and showed the way to walk for other companies. In the 30's The company was satisfied with 74 and didn't try to mix too much the formula. So all the Harleys from those days are a bit of copy from 74. London was the center of cyclists on those days, and if one wanted to see the whole world of bikes he travelled to London. Also Harley-Davidson got influences from the CONTINUE-->
European bikes with their massive, almost horizontal, single-cylinder engines. That can be seen for example in SS 350 from year 1969. But that was not the only thing Harley was recognised. They were one of the major companies developing the v-twins engine(V2). First one was introduced in 1911 and it was to come the leader of the whole new form. In the beginning somebodies were suspicious about the engine in which both cylinders were against each other in even 90 degree angel, but that didn't bother Harley-Davidson. They also invented the handshift to motorcycles, which is still nowadays a bit weird without talking of those times. Handshift can be seen specially in Fatboy, which is quite a popular Harley. The wild 50's and 60's were still to come, but the movement was already easy to notice. In London the drivers began to gather together and faster bikes were needed. Rock'n'roll was one of the main reasons. It was popular within the youngsters and they wanted to see bands alive. And there was only one choice to move from place to place: motorcycles. The best, or the worst, competitors of Harley-Davidson didn't quite succeed to reach the fifties before they died. So the company became the king of cycles all alone. They produced 5 new models during the 60's and 70's and within them there were some golden ones like the famous youthbike Electra Glide. Bikers got influences also from movies. James Dean became one the most worshipped actors, and everything he did was something to be imitated. That was also when he drove Harley-Davidson in his movies. The bikes had finally reached their real meaning. They were symbols of freedom and youth. That time were born the massive cyclegangs like Hellangels or Deathangels, which described those days with their own unique way. Every young people was a bit of a rebel. Nations were in hands of change. But Harley-Davidson managed to survive. The company has grown up as one of the largest motorcycleproducers. Early days only a few dozen units were made for business. By comparing it to nowadays' half a million units, everybody can see that the change has been obvious. Harley-Davidson connects all the drivers around the world and it has come almost a myth. Now Frantic's other members try to finish it by themselves. Unlike rumours say, Harri K. IS NOT JUST A computertechnology-student, having nothing to do with scene. He studies it, right. But he's as much scene-man as anyone of us - just doesn't praise or show himself. THAT'S THE RIGHT WAY! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At 25-28.7. will be Bloodsuckers / Byterapers / Scoopex party at Parikkala Finland, arrangers being Merit Corleone /BS and Grendel/(B). It will have biggest arrangements to this date,and lots of events & good prices. When you use fixdisk on their crack, you will find a Crystal intro from the disk! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rumours about Byterapers dying are all wrong. Group almost died to internal problems, while founder/leader Grendel was two months in army. Now everything is restored, and (B) is again expanding and working for future. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Swedish group RAGE claims to be in cooperation with Byterapers, while Byterapers' leader/founder Grendel has never even heard about any Swedish Rage! Lamers have never enough of bull... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In older Euronews was said,Byterarapers claim themselves oldest still alive group. Wrong. Group is the oldest still alive in Finland, first seen on 86, but by no means claims to be oldest still alive. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently,13.6., Stranger's whereabouts is unknown and rumours say he has fled the country - with many people's money! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Python (ex-Byterapers) was thrown out of Complex just after releasing Maggy 9. Reason: they were not satisfied to Maggy's routines and Python overall. Now Python is being tested for Frantic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Small birds say Society's party's musiccompetition was fixed! They said Heatbeat/Rebels was beforehand agreed to be the winner! And there was better tunes than winner in competition... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grendel/Byterapers has worst luck in world. First he ordered a 2400 modem. No sight after 7 months. Then he orders a 386-PC worth 14100 FIM (3700dollars), waits it 4 weeks - post has lost it. Finally machine was found, but after 4 months monitor/mouse are still lost. Then he orders a HST. Package was lost between USA/Finland. Then another HST. FINNISH MODEM SCENE NEWS Ugh. Thousands of years have gone since the last Maggy - and its scummy Finland modem scene article. I don't waste the space by telling ALL the things that have happened during the time between when Maggy # 9 was released and NOW - let's just mention the 'biggest' things.... One can still count the 'elite' BBS's in Finland with one hand: (in the alphabetical order so nobody'll kick my a$$ ..heh) Concealed Dimension, Night Shift, Thunderstruck, Watchtower and Zoo. Smaller BBS's HAVE come out - Coma, Arctic-Team and Sonic HQ's for example - but they have not grown as popular as the before mentioned ones. Just as information for those who didn't know, some prehistorical facts: Pirate's Cove & The Power Plant died (or changed to lame public BBS's) and Drunk Land died because of the money difficulties. Anything new about these 5 Finland-ruling tradeplaces....? NIGHT SHIFT (Sysop: Stranger/Image) -The sysop finally limited the 2400 bps faggots' access... -...and the busy level (which was highest in SF's elite BBS's! hehe) decreased dramatically! -The sysop (Stranger) was an object to a TONS of rumours during his Cyprus trip... A LITTLE REPORT FROM THE SOCIETY PARTY IN KAJAANI, FINLAND ON 7.-9. JUNE 91 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm wondering how successful this party overally was. Kajaani (the party town) is far away from the bigger southern cities where the most freaks live, and I thought that nobody wants to travel so long to just get to a party. But I was wrong; about 220 freaks showed up and that's a lot for a Finnish party! The competitions were badly arranged. There were of course the usual demo-, music-, and gfx-competitions and also armwrestling, Kick Off and Stunt Car Racer compos. There was no kind of voting at all, the Society-members just choosed the winners! (That was ok for me b'coz I won the music compo!) Some results from the competitions: Demo: 1. Complex "Vector Preview" 3000FIM + Hard drive 2. Vectra trackmo 1000FIM + Hardware 3. Complex trackmo 500FIM + Hardware The winning demo from Complex was rather nice with very fast filled vectors and a cool animated chainsaw (and other animated vector objects). The demo was coded by Tai-Pan. Atmospherical soundtrack and graphics were done by Jugi. This demo was really worth of the first place! Vectra took the second place in the demo-compo with their trackdemo. It was coded by Smirre the kettu joka jahtaa Peukaloista ja hanhia Peukaloisen Retkissa (cool tv-sarja & sarjakuvalehti!). The demo included a filled vector ship flying around (that didn't impress anyone), and a nice vector landscape. There were also some new kind of keftalesin one part. (should I call'em Vectrales?) Heatbeat of Rebels "SCUPPING AROUND" Midi, X-MEM + 40 disks 2. Dean of no-group (he might join Complex) 100FIM 3. ?????? Heatbeat's compotune was somekind of Big-Band-Synth-Hip-Hop-Hup-music. Yeah, Heatbeat showed once again how wonderful, exciting and excellent sound he can produce at his private studio with his 65 1/2 bits-DAT recorder and other hi-tech equipment(insider-joke!!!!). The tune wasn't bad at all, but actually the reason why it won, was it's name... (SCUP rules 4ever und aamunkoittoon!) Dean took part in the compo with two excellent tunes. He isn't a member of any group at the moment, b'coz he doesn't take the scene so seriously... Other competitions... Golem of Anarchy won the Graffax-compo. Everybody knew that before the compo started... I don't know anything about the other pictures, b'coz I fell asleep during the gfx-competition... Some unknown lamer called Dwarf of Agony won the Kick Off-compo. I'm not sure if there were any prizes in the compo, but I think it was 10 disks or some- thing like that. Viimeiset virret... At Society's party by Grendel / Byterapers Inc. At 7-9.6. small Finnish group Society arranged the first Finnish party of year 1991. To many people's surprise, their arrangements seemed fine and good and prices of democompo were really good. First rumours said there won't come too much people, then they changed telling a lot will come. And just before party many Elite groups cancelled their coming... Anyway over 250 people came. Even before party, some lack of experience was noted... The map guiding to party, by some strange reason, was unreadable around the partyplace. One couldn't read the streets, or even know where north is. What even better, nowhere in invitation was said the name of the school or even street name or number. Seemingly, everyone found the place but it wasn't the easiest job (At Lahti it was REAL hard). In party... We arrived quite early, just 1 or 2 hours after party's beginning. Already there was some folk, not much though. We, (B), chose to share room with Amaze, as I remembered them as very good fellows from my last party (at their room I had my best time...). And then... Small kids, who had never heard about the Amaze guys I asked if they're already here or if they are coming! Later I and many other old guys discussed about Amaze today, and found the sad truth: today's Amaze is a completely different group than the old GOOD Amaze. We wondered what has happened to the OLD, GOOD guys but with no solution. Those new 12-15 years old kids have taken old good Amaze completely over, and eaten the old guys. During afternoon we then changed room, as the previous room was completely filled with small groups/kids. The new room with Complex, Accession and Frantic was a lot better... And so a ELITE-ROOM was born, with groups Byterapers/Complex/Frantic/Accession. When we moved to that room, also Vectra was there but in 30 minutes they had disappeared. CONTINUE->
During afternoon came lots of people in the party. Finally the old record of party-visitors was broken - old record 220+ people was in by previous Byterapers-party, and now 250+. Sounds REAL GOOD! Only real big pity most of them were kids aged 12-15 years, and most of the best chaps didn't come at all. Just small groups around. The ELITE groups at the party were: Wizzcat, Frantic, Rebels, Byterapers Inc., Vertigo, Accession, Bloodsuckers and Complex. And the most noted members of some of those groups in party were: Zerotrack/Wizzcat, Turtle/Frantic, Grendel/Byterapers, Commonist Cowboy & Hoffi/BS, Monster/Accession, Mic Dair & Jugi Pervert/Complex. REST of groups present were: Equinox, Alpha Flight (hmm, can't really count on FINNISH Elite), Titanbytes, Black Robes, Chrome, Coma SF, Vectra, Intuition, D-Mob, Shockwave, Dimension 4, Prologic, Disknet, Special Brothers, Gods, Beyond Force (64-Elite), Skeletors, Prime SF, Cave (was Elite, try to rise again my boys!), Nikki Corruptions, Extend, Fantasy Force, Pro, Amaze (FAKE!), Skiw Row (again, cannot really count as FINNISH elite-group), Astrogate Inc. (what's the point on taking name from old Byterapers-demo for a group? Just asking...), Heavy Duty, Offworld, Parallax, Dual Crew, Profex, Agony, Loctite, Shock, Black Light Inc, Sonic, Energy, Vances, Anarchy (Finnish???), Elysion, Exotic Men and Gemini. Most of those groups were so silent, and mostly could be only noted from their posters on walls. Mostly there was typical party-going... People making beautiful vectors with CUBES and PYRAMIDS and other traditional objects. More people watching in trance how X-COPY copies lots of stuff. Typical, AAARGH! Some change to lameness was when Bloodsuckers started a fight at schoolyard, and broke a 10000FIM video-camera... They were CONTINUE ->
almost kicked out of party. For some reason ushers didn't like us when we climbed to roof, and watched the sun going down.. Hmm.. BIG FUN was watching the arrangers starting a anti-alcohol campaign. Someone was catched with some booze, and arrangers started examining everyone. HAHAAA!!! It was fun, when they found booze from some guys and forced them to empty bottles to sink... HAHAA! Sorry, Exotic Men! HAHAAA! Real fun... Booze talking, funny was also during both Friday/Saturday nights, when arrangers didn't let in some boozed guys! Right, Society! For example Proton/Byterapers had to wait 1 1/2 hours before getting in! Best of all was when some guys moved Proton's motorcycle from its place, and Proton thought it had been stolen! Proton ran out, found his bike and drove it back to its place. THEN USHER CALLED COPS! And Proton spent his night at jail!!! HAHA! Problem afterwards was, that proton might lose his driving license -> lose his job -> can't pay his bank loan -> WHO KNOWS???? Let's hope the best... Also we built a classroom on the roof, openeda window and carried chairs and tables outside. Later we took them inside, to avoid trouble with ushers (one didn't have much humour). Big pity was, that most of the old scene-guys didn't come. In whole party were only SIX (6!) guys who'd been in scene already at 1988!!! YOUNGSTERS EVERYWHERE! We old guys were me, Grendel of (B), Monster of Accession, Mid Dair & Jugi of Complex and Communist Cowboy & Hoffi of BS. All rest didn't come! We missed you, who didn't come! Especially Zebra/Reward/Scoopeksi, Moku/Lennu/Vyvyan/Accession & so on.... Bigger pity was almost everyone in party was so silent... No fun! Silent, copying, coding, sitting.. Doing nothing FUN! Later Frantic could be found from several places... Thanks guys! Without you party would've been much dullier. The gamecompos were good, although there was some problems with getting players to play. I and Monster tried to make small fool to democompo. Accession had made demo Graveyard Party Blues six months ago, but almost no-one had seen it. We tried to change texts, and release it there as new demo. But Monster had left sources home!Hmpfh. We tried and tried to change texts, and everytime it crashed. FInally we tried to enter democompo with exactly same demo as it was released times ago... Perkele, it was disqualified! Someone had told about it! Another funny thing with Heatbeat/Rebels (Repeltajat...). For you, who don't know him. Heatbeat is 14 years old, and also looks so. Little kid with round face. But good, nice boy anyway! You'd never guess who he is, if you don't know him beforehand. So.... Heatbeat was wandering around the party, and came to Amaze's room. He spent some time there, looking at Amaze. Finally Amazes fed up with some little "lamer-type" looking at them, and VERY ARROGANTLY asked "who are you?" (arrogantly!). "I'm Heatbeat of Rebels." And now started terrible bootlicking "you're so great, you make so good music, you are best" etc etc etc. HA! They falled in love with him immediately (But Heatbeat is reserved, sorry! (not for me)). Arrangers had some problems with music/graphics/democompo.... The organization with judging demos was following: Society-members decide the best demos, musics and graphics. No voting. This led to problems. First they only ranked 4-5 best things CONTINUE ->
per compo. NOTHING ELSE! Of about 16 musics only 4 were ranked, of rest was told nothing! SHIT! THIS DIDN'T WORK! Overall this was very bad decision, and people didn't like it at all. Even more: ALL MUSICDISKS WERE STOLEN, and many graphics-disks too. Someone had given to compo his only workdisk - which was stolen - and his three months work was lost! GREAT! Disks could've been kept safer, right Extabulator & rest? The SHOW was anyway good. Society had VERY BIG screen to show demos etc, and two TWO meters high speakers! WHAT VOLUME! WOWW! Never seen/heard anything like it! They had already watched graphics, and did then show the winning graphics in order. Then they started to play compo-musics... People had trouble knowing if a> is this already the competition? b> or are they now showing the tunes in winning order c> or are they just playing tunes? It was C. First came Heatbeat's tune, which also won compo. Then some real cool HEAVY tune (which was better than Heatbeat). Then Moonlight Shadow (if remember right). Then another slow tune. Then Speed-Head/Byterapers' Jesus Loves America! WOW! First patterns were USA-national anthem (psychedelic) and Communist Cowboy/BS took attention and gave honor to the song. Merit/BS started use lighter on his ass, and CC turned and started to hit him. Then CC forced Merit on floor, took his chair and started to hit Merit with chair. WHAT A SHOW! WOOOOO!!!! You should've seen it! Just great. Then CC calmed, and sat down... Listened the song to the end and started to shout "that was the best tune of all! I'm shamed to say this, but Byterapers was the best of all we've heard". This was very amazing, as I had big war with CC last year, police & all were included. Then we made peace, and get again on with each other. But I could never have imagined CC would say something GOOD of (B) ever... HUH! Moment later CC moved a bit to talk something with Monster, and Merit took his chair and gave it to guy behind him. CONTINUE ->
That guy gave chair again back, and within a moment CC's chair was at the back of hall. CC was quite funny when trying to find his chair.... We were naturally sitting at front of screen. Then some demos were shown. Most nothing interesting... Prologic's small demo was real good! All Elite admitted it - it was nice made, not special code but nice small demo. Then came Complex's Vectorpreview! WOW! Imagine the aplouds it got! People calpping like crazy when two more X-Wing-fighter came into screen, and even more when the chainsaw came (probably coz Elite's knew about the saw, and waited its appearance...). And shouting: BEST etc... IF COMPLEX WON'T WINTHE COMPO, WE'LL WRECK THE WHOLE PLACE! Funny was, as Merit sat next to the computer which was used to show demos... There was shown some stupid, usual demo... Merit attacked left-mouse-button. Radical loaded demo again. Merit reseted machine. Radical loaded it again. Now we looked it through. Plaah. Soon came another stupid demo for compo.. Now Radical was careful "no reseting this time" and Merit plugged Amiga off electricity. HAHA! Elders talked later about the musiccompo, and we were not satisfied with it. Today techno-pop is in, and guys who make realistic or otherwise good music are not ranked. For example, when Speed-Head was player at SHOW, it was admitted as the best by many. Even the second HEAVY-tune was better than winner. But because Techno-pop is in, it won. NOT FAIR! If musicians would be ranked how realistic or how good music they can make - the world's Number One musician would be Watchman (Complex). But because his music is not typical..... phh. CONTINUE ->

Also later we have heard, that first and second places WERE FIXED! That Heatbeat was before-hand agreed to be the winner! This can really be true, as there was better musics than Heatbeat's one. I don't mean to fuck you, Heatbeat, with this - but this is the truth by many persons. Turtle/Frantic's comments: Good party, but competitions STINK! Too much small lamers. Radical is shithead. Fun war with (B). Overall: Not a bad party. Organizations failed, as they did in my previous party. Anyway things went on better than at Iisalmi. The competitions were poorly arranged, and decision-system for compos was SHIT. The alcohol-policy was good, and you efficiently kept all drunks in hand (I'll never forget the sight, as Merit had two escorts for the rest of party!!! WOW!). Most seemed to have good time, at least I and Monster did from time to time (MUROMIES!). Real good work from first-timers! THANKS! I liked it. Thank you, Extabulator (and Radical & rest...).
THE ANARCHY WINTER CONFERENCE 1991 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ PREFACE ^^^^^^^ This, our first party had been planned for some time. After our initial decision to hold a party we were aproached by Quartex and asked if we would like to make the party a cooperation event. This idea sounded good at the time, Quartex said they would find a venue for the party, after which advertising event could begin, an aproximate date was set, the party was to be held mid November 1990. Weeks rolled on and when November was almost upon us Quartex said they hadnt found a place, so inevitably the party was postponed. Towards the end of November (and without Quartex) plans once again began....... The Venue ^^^^^^^^^ The Party was held inside a school hall and its ajoining rooms and corridors, on Febuary 23rd 1991 in a town called Barnsley which is aproximatly 230 miles north of London, England. The Party! ^^^^^^^^^^ The party was set to begin at 10 am, and run for 13 hours until 11pm. A lot of guys started to arrive just before 10 am, and less than one hout later the bulding was packed with guys. Before long we had to get the caretaker of the school to open up more rooms so could fill them with guys. Most of the UK's groups came to the party, including Quartex, Betrayal, Crystal, Scoopex UK, Subway, CONTINUE-->
Magnetic Fields, LSD, Slipstream and Anthrox. Lots of lamers came too including the lamest most stupid group in England ..Pendle Europa. They arived at the party looking either like stupid american tourists or garbage collectors. They were kept seperate from the rest of the guys at the party by putting them all inside a small cupboard sized room in the front corridor of the building. The Organisation of the party has been maticulously planned, with with the following events planned for the day.. Kick Off competition, Big Prize Raffle (the prize was a Midi-HIFI) a KARIOKE (a fun game which often takes place at disco's/nightclubs, where contenders have to proove their worth by singing to their best ability to a backing track, .. ofter with hilarious results!), and of course the crucial demo and mussc competions. There was all day food and soft drinks, a bar in the evening and a computer hardware stall on site too. All in all this party was set to be the bigest and best ever held in the UK. The number of people attending the party was record breaking for a party in England (which you must remeber is an island) with nearly 300 guys attending the party during the course of the day. One moment everything was going fine, and all the carefull planning that had taken place was paying off, until disaster struck! The worst think that could have possibly happened..... DID! The power went out! Every Screen in the building and every light went out, followed by a great human groan! The caretaker was fetched to solve the situation, a few moments later the power was back, "Hurrah!" said a hundred voices. Sadly that was not the end of the power problem, but eventualy we did receive a smooth and reliable supply, but this came too late for the Kick off off competition which had suffered several false starts due to power cut outs and so was inevitabley cancled. The four winning & runner up trophies were in a draw to the guys who entered the competition. CONTINUE-->
The next disaster was the Karioke equipment never arrived, although the owner did! This next paragraph may sound a little critical of one individual but the arogance of this man was unabound! The demo competition being held in a room just outside the main hall, this was one of two rooms that had a safe powersupply due to being off the main circuit. Before the demo comp could begin OPUS of EQINOXE demanded that the demo competition be cancelled, his reason being that the source code for their demo had been during a powercut before they had chance to finnish it, he also felt that because only six demos were being entered for the competion that this wasnt enought to make it worthy and said that there was no pride to be taken for winning against so few oponents, but nobody else agreed with him, it was just him against the rest of the party, I asked him if he waould be calling for the cancellation of the demo competition "because of lack of entries" if their demo had not been lost, he replied "we would have entered it." What an asshole! How anyone can be so selfish is beyond me! (and everyone else there agreed) In the end, the coder of their demo was called into the room, when asked if HE thought the competition should be canceled because of the loss of their demo he replied "Nooo! I dont care!.. Carry on!" Opus had egg on his face and when he left was probably the most hated person of the day! The demo competition (which was won by magnetic fields) and the rest of the day went sucsesfully. Conclusions ^^^^^^^^^^^ Firstly have to make clear that I am a member of Anarchy, but I hope that some people wont think that because of this, some facts about the party may have been biased in some way. Overall the party was a great succsess with an overwelming turnout of almost 300 people (considering that if you added together every member of every group in England you would be extremly lucky to make 400!) Everybody enjoyed themselves, some people got drunk and some were tempted away from the party by young girls waving condoms at the windows! (this is completely true!) The main disruption of the party was the overloading of the power supply, which was completly out of out our controll, this problem then caused the cancelation of the Kick Off competition, and set a-light Opus of Equinoxe's selfish personality. Everybody I've spoken to since the party said they had a great day and sympathised about the power supply problem. If anyone else has their opinion of the party I would like to hear it. E.C.E.S Party-Report 14.6-16.6.-91 To be mentioned hereby at the very beginning of this text I would like to emphasize the fact this text is written as a Finnish point of view. So this might sound a bit brutal to people who had a great fun at this party . . . but now let's get to it ! For my part the voyage beginned at thursday 13.6 at Viking-line terminal here in Turku. After one helluva sleepless night at boat we arrived to Stockholm city. From there we continued with train. In train we regonized couple of freaks rushing their heavy bags (Some Rebels and others . . .) We arrived to partyplace one hour before opening. Approx. 100 guys were there before us. Here followed the first dissapointment ; No Finns at all in sight ! Depressed we entered the school at 14:00 and tried to spell our names to the staff . . . (ya can't believe how hard it can be . . . ) We got classroom and took our stuff there. After gathering up our Amiga we went looking around the school . . . It was time 4 second dissapointment ; it wasn't enough that almost all people were Swedes . . most of them were very lame . . . Here's some of those cool groups we can remember : Palace, Dual Crew, Voice, Silents, Defjam, Complex + of coz the staff who organized this pardey (Phenomena, Razor, Rebels and Zike & Conqueror) First day was very hard . . . We had no much to do and that's why we spent our time at city and in school cafeteria. (Where the only nice looking girls were found !) Saturday was like friday . . . no too much things to do. (ya can't believe what a release : you can talk your OWN language !) We thought the demo-competition would be held at 24.00 or some hours after that, but no ! The demos were shown 10 hours after deadline ! That fact ment that we had no time to copy any of the demos released at this party ! (at all : we didn't lose much, cause demos were very low qualified !) We just had enough time to look demos at this consert-hall, where they were shown. VERY BAD thing was that during the demo, -music and graphics competition the staff spoke only swedish ! So we had about to guess which demo was winner . . . Finally we came to this result : No 1. Dual Crew intro (4th dimension) Rest were impossible to guess so you just have to get 'em somewhere else ! Graphics competition was VERY high-qualified ! The five Best of the pictures were shown at the hall. Winner was some Swede with his neat barbaric picture. Second was Red Baron with his Mountain-King ! Even the rest of the pictures were so cool that it was hard to believe your eyes ! Also the music-competition was cool . . . Anyway, the swedish language was beyond our reach and so you won't get any names of the winners hereby. In general this party was a good example of 'over swede' party. Swedes chewed Swedish to eachothers and couldn't speak English ! There were many people who hardly could say a word in English ! In future I will thought twice before entering a party in Sweden and if I will - I will do it with atleast 20 Finns ! So, all Swedes . . . Hope you had a good time - coz I didn't ! (VIBRILLION)
TURTLE-PARTY REPORT =================== 11.5 Helsinki, Finland, Turtle of Frantic held a party for finnish Amiga- freaks, and here is the report of that party. Well, the partyplace located in Helsinki, Munkkivuori. Place was hard to find, atleast for us because the map we used to find the place was too old (printed in year 1977). And building where party was held was a kind of youthcenter. There were one big hall and 3 smaller rooms for use...and because all rooms were full, we occupied the kitchen...heh heh!!! Amount of freaks was a surprising big, about 70 guys were presented.I expected only about 30 guys so it was a suprise atleast for me. Ofcourse half of them were just locals. Some groups who showed up were : Complex (we), Scoopex, Rebels Sf, Alpha Flight Sf, Image, Bloodsuckers, Equinox, Sonic, Owerflow, Mean Machine, Frantic (ofcourse), Vertigo, Accession and some others i can't remember... Turtle even organized a introcompetition. Ofcourse prices for winning intros couldn't be so high coz it was only a miniparty...but anyway, 7 intros were judged...Results of compo : 1) Rebels Sf , 2)Alpha Flight , 3)Image , 4)Bloodsuckers , 5)Alpha Flight , 6)Equinox , 7)Sonic...Strange that Bloodsuckers were at 4th place because their intro wasn't ready. Well, i got to say thanks to Turtle who made good work with the party. It was good organized though it was bit boring but it wasn't Turtle's fault... Mic & Reward & Co. got bored and tried to make some fun with shooting lamers with peas...But some of them didn't like the whole idea and they left the party place. Poor fellows...

Here is Agnus of Flashing Bytes Germany and I got this crazy Magazine on the 'Maximum Pleasure' Party, which was held on May 18th 1991 ... ------------------------------------------------------------ Party Report : Maximum Pleasure Party (May 18th 1991) ------------------------------------------------------------ The Maximum Pleasure Party was organized by Tristar, Red Sector, Vogue and Supplex, and also a group from the C-64 (Crest) was under the organizers, but as I've not seen any C-64 I can't understand why Crest has done this ... We were three Flashing Bytes members there, two came with a car and the third one by train ! The invitation for the party was totally lame because we all thought the party whould be in the Luxembourg City but it was 50 kilometers away from the City ... the party began at 1 pm but we arrived at 4 pm coz it was a really lame invi and we haven't found the partyplace (by the way Storm of Energy was our driver, he he !) ... When we arrived there were about 250 freaks and we saw some of our friends from Panic, Action, Coma, Treacl ... Later on, Mr. Base from Flashing Bytes turned the computer and he started coding while I talked to some friends ... The Music Competition was at 6 pm but there were only 5 guys who made the jury and so the musics were rated only by such a lame account ... and as there were also some TRSI members who were in the jury the music from TRSI won ... great !!! I don't know who finally were the other one's because it's not important, I think the sound TRSI made was not worth to win and it was not a real competition ... The sounds were not played fully but only 1/5 of the patterns were played and then the sound was stopped ... At 8 pm there was the demo competition but not much demos were shown ... - The Special Brothers Luxembourg - Brainstorm - Hawai Brothers - Iris - Frantic and a demo made with the Red Sector demomaker which was kicked out ! Also JPN (ex-DISC-editor) sent his game called asteroids in the competition but the jury dropped it also ... CONTINUE -->
The demos from Brainstorm, Hawai Brothers and Iris didn't work and so they couldn't be rated. The special feature of the party was a live strip ! That girl was really pretty, if you want some photos drop me a message ... the girl came twice, one time before and the second time after the demo competition ... Normally the party should have been on two days (May 18-19) but the organizers had to close the hall at 3 am on May 19th so we left the party at 2 am ... Finally the party wasn't bad at all ... there were not so much releases as on other parties and also the competitions were not well organized but we met some cool guys and friends and we spread our info-paper about 'Trader' ! Some features which were printed on the invitation were not shown ! There was no US Modem Import and no Live Cracks were shown ! I hope you got the most important facts from that party .... ABOUT DISKMAGS The main reason I'm writing this crap is Jason/Energy's letter to Bad Tongue issue 10. HE says he doesn't like Eurochart,bcoz' there are no trainercharts on their charts. Eurochart receive approx.500 votes/issue,(or more) and I understand they'd like to do something else than counting the votes every day.So there can't be every possible chart in it!! Bad Tongue hasn't got such many voters (yet!) Ofcourse everyone has got own opinions,but I think BAD Tongue is NOT best mag on the scene. (like Jason said) It is good,but not best! Bcoz' it hasn't got enough pages (possible bcoz' they are on IFF format (every page!) and bcoz' there ain't enuf writers. I think (that's my opinion!) there are many ELITE mags on the scene, like: ZINE (maybe best),CJ (not as good as about one year ago,but they have new code in it),Eurochart (Euronews could be bigger and include something else than news,too. Anyway,Ken-stories in scroll are very good),Maggy (hope there would still be some SUOMALAISIA JUTTUJA!),and others like Royal Informs,ICE,DISC,BAD Tongue,Hackmag and others (I can't remember everyone) to the end I wanna say ANYWAY,trainercharts are good idea! Ok, when your Post Office (This case in Sweden) stamps your envelope with BIG hurry, they only look : 65201, ok, then they throw it to some big box what is going to somewhere in SWEDEN what has that same POST CODE what that Finnish dude has (yes,65201!) !!! You got it? Hope so, because if you still send you mail like this dude in Sweden, your mail can very often delay min. 1 day ! And that is much sometimes, or what??? 2400 bps, curse or blessing ? In the scene, trading with modem is perharps the most important way of spreading productions. Its quickness and reliability is far more better than in 'normal' mailswapping. This is a good thing. And now I mean HST- and other fast modems. But there are also lots of fellows who have 2400-modems. These guys also want to be in scene trading stuff, even with a slow modem. This is NOT a good thing. Since them are so muddy that it slows down others' traders' "job". I know one person (let's give him to be anonymous...) who calls from Finland even to Germany with 2400-modem! And he calls himself 'modemtrader'... He have to be *RICH* or *SICK*. However, slow modems are still not useless. Around here where I live are many "message"-bbs:s, where to I call daily. The message-business is very much different in those bases compared to "pirate"-boxes. It is quite nice to conversate about things with other persons, than only send out fuckings... Also 2400-modems are just fine with down/uploading some 'little'-stuff. I do understand very much people who have bought HST with quite a high price, and then when they start trading, there are some stupid l****s who are just in the way with them 2400:ers. But it is not correct to say that all modems below 9600-speed are for l****s and other stupid and failed guys. If everybody stays with his(her) own kinds of 'speeds' nobody needs to be in everyone's route. To the end I must inform you that I have 2400-modem, and I am not thought about getting HST. Movie Review: the Doors Directed by Oliver Stone This film has been advertised very much and I looked forward to see it. Finally it arrived also my town's cinema and so I went there. Of course. I take one of my friends with me, because I think it is not so nice watch films alone. Well, this is not very important. The film was just as great as I waited. Stone's style of directing is quite original. The film tells about Doors and Jim Morrison. It is not any fame-story in which you can see how they came from unknownesity to publicity with great efforts. No. In the film you can see the visions what He/They had when they were stoned. You can see the worshippers of Jim Morrison doing anything he wanted them to do. You can see the outer side of Jim Morrison. But not the inside. In the film there's no Morrison's thoughts or something like that. There's just his visions. There's also people who want to get money with Doors. They see that Doors will become something big. BIG. And it became. The hippie-culture is well representated. Drugs & sex & rock'n'roll. Parties In addition to Morrison's visions and problems there is also humour. I really laughed to some scenes. I am not going to tell any 'jokes' here, because them have to be seen. One actor in the film is one my favourit, Kyle McLachlan (or something like that...), the agent Cooper from Twin Peaks himself! The film is great and it is truly worth of seeing. And the music is great too. "Light my fire", "Break on through", "Riders of the storm" and all other masterpieces. Denmark is mostly known for the danish bacon, the lovely blond girls, and the bad weather. Here in Denmark we say that we have two winters. The white one, and the green one. The population in Denmark is 4.9 million people. Denmark also have the biggest island in the world, Greenland. And then Denmark have one of the best computer scenes. Yeah, let's talk something about the danish scene.... The danish scene is not a cracker scene, it's a demo scene. There is very few cracker groups in Denmark. The only one I can think of right now is Skid Row and Palace. Some of the legends from the past came from Denmark. Just think of Bamiga Sector One, Vision and the real Warfalcons. Also today loadsa cool groups is from Denmark or at least haves a danish division, like : Rebels, Flash Production, Dexion, Crionics, Silents, Anarchy, Skid Row, Awesome, Palace, and Budbrain. Now let's take a closer look at some of the danish groups. REBELS : They are one of the oldest active groups in Denmark. They are known for good demo, and sometimes with a weird style. I think it was the weird demos from Static and Vandal who made Rebels wellknown. In the past few month Rebels have got many new members. Things is going well for Rebels. Good productions from Rebels : The Coma demo, many good demos, and nice pack disks. DEXION : Also a very old group here in Denmark. But things aren't going too good for Dexion. Many coders are working on games. And their good coder Mr.Perfect have left them. He will go to the states. When this is written their latest release was a great one disk demos called Global Trash. Good productions from Silents : Global Trash, other good demos, and great music disks. ANARCHY : The danish division of the english group Anarchy is pretty new. We haven't seen anything from them yet, but romours tells that they are working on some great demos. The division consists of members from ex-Kefrens/Rebels and from Prologic, Flash Prod. and Cheyens (I think). SKID ROW : Well, a new group in Denmark. This danish division is mostly modem trading. I don't know if they are cracking. But they haven't produced any demos. AWESOME : This new danish division of the german group Awesome is only trading on modem and by mail. I don't know if they have any coders, or anything else. TRIANGLE 3532 : This group is also a pretty old group. It was formed some years ago by some members from Election and I think some others. REDNEX : A totally new group. I don't know much about them. They have released one demo and a few intros. PALACE : I don't know if this group is danish or if this is a danish division of that group. They have made many quite good trainers, and I think they are also cracking. BUDBRAIN : Well, I don't think I have to introduce this group. I guess everybody knows them. They have produced two megademos and some virus killers. Their demos is in a totally new style. There's no coding in their demos, but they are really entertaining to watch. It's hard to explain their demos, but I think I need to do it. You all know their demos. Good productions from Budbrain : 2 megademos. PROLOGIC : Well, this group haven't done much. They have made a few intos and demos. I don't think that it's going very good for Prologic. Some members have left them. Some have joined Budbrain and Awesome. STATIC BYTES : They have released a few demos, and some pretty good good music disks. It's very seldom you see something from them. But I think they are in need of coders. Good productions from Static Bytes : A few good demos, and some nice musicdisks. CASCADE : This danish division have only released a megademo and that was certainly nothing worth to talk about. Let's hope that they will make better demos in the future. Well, I think I have mentioned all the most important groups in Denmark. Well I know that you are waiting for the Top 5 of danish groups, but I will not make one, but I will mention the 5 groups who maybe could be in such a Top 5. In NO order : Rebels - Flash Production - Budbrain - Crionics - Silents. I woun't make that Top 5 because then someone would be angry. But as you can see, the danish scene is a demos scene, with many demos groups and almost no illegal groups. And there is a good friendship in the danish scene, because almost everybody knows eachother. And there is no competition, because we are friends. Finnish scene-history '86-91 By Grendel of Byterapers Inc. Today Finland is quite well known for its groups, or groups with divisions in Finland, like Scoopex, Frantic, Image & many other; bigger and smaller. But what about the yesterday's groups? What about those groups who have BUILT the current scene? Many current freaks have no idea about the old Finnish groups or their doings.This is a story about them and starting from the beginning, from the 64-times. The Finnish scene started to shape during the year 1987. At that year the existing, small at that time, groups started to find about each other. Of course there had been groups before, names like Pure-Byte and 777-Team should drop a tear from every old freak who's been around. They were the FIRST Finnish groups to ever get fame and rise to world-fame.Pure-Byte's star was Yip, otherwise known as Jori Olkkonen, who coded Scrollmachine, legendary demo which achieved enormous success. Later came The Dungeon,which amazed even more with its brilliant code. 777-Team rose as well high, even though don't know how as I didn't see much their doings. Anyway they were first Finnish Elite Amiga-group. Back 87. There was a lot of single guys, and small groups who were now, without knowing, forming "scene". A lil group of friends who formed inside ring "elites" of Finnish groups. Many had been around already from '86, although were just beginning. The star-groups of '87 were: 64: Byterapers, Stack, Z-Circle, Digitize Design Group, Finnish Gold, Amiga: X-Men, Finnish Gold, 777-Team.X-Men were to became the 2nd Amiga-group CONTINUE-->
rising into world's eyes, and the tool into fame was "Digisources 1&2".By that time's standard's they were extremerely useful: disks with useful samples for your songs! Stack was that time's crazy party-parta-group. Fast 64-cracking and even (at least) ONE demo from Zados. Zados was,is,the crazy here with myself in those days parties,drinking together under table, crazy talk&partyhabits and outfits... Byterapers had been growing fast, at worst times there was 50 members, but later it was dropped to sane numbers.The star of (B) was Kasper The Lord of the Keyboard, code-wizard. Magic but dead lazy coder, who cracked about 300 games during his lazy career. Some cracks were spread very well, as well as some demos, so (B) started to gain same fame. Z-Circle were small bunch of 4 or 5 guys doing a demo when cared. Without exception, they all were very good coders and put out very good demos. Especially TMS and Wallie deserve a special mention for building the scene.Later they disappeared of lazyness, but were for some time high on democharts.Finnish Gold is the best demogroup ever on 64 in Finland. The Fantasy Cracking Service (FCS)was long a loner doing demos by himself, and coding for Omega Team (later known as Finnish Gold). Then he joined FIG, and started one of the brighest stars ever. In the very end FIG was a member of legendaryTAU, The Austrian Union and made for them one of the best demos on 64 since that date. Later they left TAU, as well as TJU and created FIG's fame on their own. I could yet mention "V-Crackings Inc.", which stood for another Finnish legend named MOKU,later being at FIG and going to found Accession at 88. Many smaller groups were also formed at that time, but probably the only one alive is Wizzcat, born at end on 87. The few groups live from those times are Byterapers, being the oldest active group in Finland now (1986-91); DDG, who exist but are very dead; FIG, the same as DDG. That time existed also a small, funny group Wabo-Soft. It consisted of one, small unknown guy with big mouth named Reward + one other guy. Later Reward found Immortal Icarus Imperium, moved to Powerslaves and finally stormed Scoopex. Year changes. At newyear 87/88 is the first Finnish party, kept by the TJU, The Jezebels Union. At the party XYZ-Soft coded the first Finnish Amiga-demo ever. TJU was something we could only dream today: CONTINUE-->
all Finnish groups in one Union. Later when TJU splitted,the party started being called Finnish Gold party. There was the WHOLE current scene, all 40 guys!The Jezebels was a big thing to be,but unfortunately it was killed: Finnish Gold was the 1st group to leave it, saying they didn't need it. No-one needed it, but it was a good thing to be. X-Men followed, and so the elite- groups slowly left TJU. At these times started a competition between Byterapers and Finnish Gold about the leading place in Finland. 87 had been same compo between (B) and Stack,but Stack lost ground with moving to Amiga and lazyness. Now was starting a much longer and bitter competition. Afterwards thinking, neither group could win, as both had concentrated on different areas: Finnish Gold were demomakers,while (B) were crackers and spreaders. Anyway, for some time a hidden WAR was going between groups, while other groups were keeping out of way of struggling 64-giants.Also a much smaller was between (B) and ZODUX took place. Zodux was a small group which suddenly declared to be the NO:1! In very short but intense war Zodux disbanded themselves, and came out as exactly same group but with name: BEYOND FORCE! Zodux were ultra-lamers, and first Beyond was too, no wonder as they were just the same groups. Later Beyond Force rose high on coding, as they got Solomon,a coder almost as good as FCS. Anyway the struggle between (B) and FIG continued unchanged until 1989. Both groups claimed to be no:1. Both got better all the time,FIG made better demos while (B) cracked faster and more than any other Finnish group. Both were tops on own area. Always will be remembered some demos like Ice-Cold, 7 on The Top and all those rest brilliant ones with FCS' code and Rock's musics. Then FCS went to army, and so Finnish Gold faded from the scene. They still exist today, but do nothing. At 88 the scene really went on.Groups came. Groups went. Parties. DDG's Digiparty'88. Byterapers Party. Moku formed Accession from FIG's Amiga-side and The Destroyer Team. Someone called Zebra rose high. Stack gained strange fame as partyanimals (ketchup rules). Hack-Man came into light in FUS and later found Deathstar. Yes it was cool! The Rulers Of Finland-claimed. Erm. Hoffi had founded HTG (Hacker Trick Group) before, but left it and joined CONTINUE-->
Deathstar. He was later kicked out with The Wicked and went on founding BLOODSUCKERS!Later he joined (B) at Rockstar's birthday- party, and went after some time back to BS. West Russian Bad Boys ruled! Group which's leader Communist Cowboy boasted they collect all Finnish lamers. Vodka, Samovar, Lenin, da! Later this phenomena died, as CC also went to BS. WRBB and Stack/ X-Men were on same line - Eastern Power, our father Lenin rules, da! Sometime later Stack and X-Men went into cooperation, and after long time a shock came: Stack melts into X-Men and ceases to exist. Byterapers & Team-X cooperated, and grew to top 3 Finnish Amiga-groups A lot of small groups existed. People like A.C Software, F.S.D., HJJR, Swap and Beagle Boys, who presented the typical people around. Or MJM-Service, who later went on founding Browbeat, another famous 64-group. FIG made amazing 64-demos.(B) cracked more and more, and gained status as cracking crew. Team-X was high on Amiga and went into cooperation with (B). Later the coop splitted, but for some time the (B)+Team-X-coop had been very powerful. Mirage Intl. rose into sights, and was everyone's fun. Everyone's favourite lamers, making war with others. They also released diskmag C.O.W., which still is unique. Pure parody, at least 4 issues were made. They achieved to reach "Simo-price of the month" at Skandinavian News 8 for being the lamest group of the month. Near Tampere Neutral Zone Crackers affected with unbelievable digi-disks etc. Phalanx and. Came 1989. Now it was real. Finland had all possibilities, but one big problem was still: mail's slowness. Modems did't yet be reality for Finland's swappers, and it was impossible to be fast swapper with foreign contacts. Some groups anyway did it, and many other groups made finally quality demos - FIG's was not alone. This year the Finnish breakthrough happened. 64-groups like Finnish Gold and Beyond Force were releasing brilliant demos. Byterapers achieved position 9 on world's 64-crackercharts and reached Top 5 on Finnish Amiga-charts. Deathstar relesed the first Finnish megademo, which only few months ago reached Crusaders Eurochart top 20. Freedom Force followed soon with their megademo, but it didn't reach same CONTINUE-->
quality. FF gained status with Lucifer's demos, and Phalanx released their legendary vector-demo(coded by Tai-Pan), which still is far better than most current filled-vector demos. It had IDEA and HUMOUR. One could laugh watching it, which can't be said with these fast'n beautiful filled demos today. Overload appereated, and cooperated with Phalanx, and arranged the fiasco Lahti-party. Later joined each other, and became Complex. Strange group called X-Beat was born, as Irwin being founder. That was real strange group, first only partyboozers but later even some real jobbing. That's time's top-boozers were Zados/Stack, Irwin/ X-Beat and Grendel/(B). Some small groups of time were for example First Wave and Microwave. Accession released magazine Skandinavian News, which challenged Cracker Journal very hard from the best mag's position. They were having very good time overall. More and more happened. Axion 1999 first boasted, and then got fucked by all Finnish groups. Sampox the lame noticed nothing and continued laming (he even BOUGHT stuff from the writer). Destiny were first down, but later rose real high as swappers and were sucked into Deathstar. Clones saw the light, being quite ok. Even Walkman of IT was some time in Byterapers. At beginning of 89 Byterapers announced the first Amiga-products, and started the Muzzax series. The Action Force left (B) and founded Index. Index was very short lived, soon joined Phaland. The 64-guys formed Contex, which was to became a bright star on the 64-sky. They soon joined the ranks of Finnish elite-coders, and filled the empty slot left by Finnish Gold, as both Rock (Skandinavian's 2nd best musician) and FCS (best 64 coder in Finland) were in army. Byterapers qui the whole 64-section at once, and Extasy was found, main members being ex-rapers Rockstar and Servant. They continued the cracking (B) had started, and rose real high. Another great war of 1989 happened between Bloodsuckers vs Finnish groups. BS had been teasing Finnish groups already, but then came the final bit. I and Scy&The Wicked Bloodsuckers were at Silents-party at Sweden and released a small intro there. At intro we together fucked all Finnish groups and wrote awful shit about everyone. CONTINUE-->
"We made this intro just to send lots of fucks". Suddenly, no-one realized it was joke, took everything literally and started a war against BS. What's most interesting, no-one battled against Byterapers - even when the intro was BS & (B) cooperation products and I had been writing the texts as well. BS almost disappeared by the time, but did not die and are now high again. But it's very funny to see what ONE SMALL INTRO, with logo,music and scroll can do. Funny was also how almost ALL Finnish groups united against BS but achieved nothingelse but some months silence. 1990. Almost what we see today. Contex died, and Finnish guys formed Artline Designs, legal group. Beyond Force rose again high, as Solomon had been in army and during it BF were quite down. Since returning, they have been doing good work on 64, and were the no:2 after Extasy. Many Amiga-groups were seen. Cave, Amaze, Midnightsun... etc. Scoopex's Finnish guys released demos like 7 Sins and Mental Hangover, and gained eternal fame (happy to be famous, yes Sprayer & Zebi?). Skandinavian News 10 was relesed, and no more came. With SN's death, Accession fall into deep chasm and haven't yet got up. Group is alive, all old members are there still and they have managed to released something but nothing to compare into 88/89 when they were on biz. Just before christmas Byterapers did a desparate attempt to climb out of grave, and almost did it. Really much was going on, but when Grendel left to army, the new leaders ruined his whole work and (B) almost died. Grendel howewer returned after 2 months of army, and saved the group from death. 1991 And today. There is more people, more groups than ever. But the real top is very small, as big groups have swallowed the best single guys of most small groups. The best current 64-crews seem to be Victims (ex-Extasy = Rockstar & Servant) and Dead Sector. Beyond Force is moving completely to Amiga, they have slowly been releasing some demos & even a real brilliant and warmly welcomed musicdisk. The Amiga-side is known by most, but let's have a repeat. Stranger the Jarnis BBSman is getting very rich by selling cheap hardware), Vertigo (made a demo when care, but usually with good quality.The Fill'em All included humour so rare today, also have a good BBS), Bloodsuckers (very lazy, one of the OLD Elite-groups, Hoffi-laardiman keeps his BBS Thunderstruck which is sick, as group overall. Mostly a partygroup today, but who knows?. Are organizing a party at July with Scoopex and Byterapers), Frantic (got famous with their few but good demos, and keep riding with rumours about coming real COOL demo. Hope they won't disappoint us with fast routines with no IDEA at all), Byterapers (another OLD Elite-group, very silent from January, because almost died. Now again on back with coming products. Oldest Finnish group alive, also most famous Finnish party-arranger group - yearly since 88), Complex (another OLD elite-group, were long time silent as death, but lately begun taking new members and rising. Managed to relesed after LOOONG pause new issue of their MAGGY-mag,issue 9, but mag had lost much of its quality. as a funny thing they threw the coder of mag, Python, out of group immediately after its release. Are storming world democharts, and climbed in TWO MINUTES BACK TO FINLAND'S NO:1 DEMOGROUP at Society-party), Accession (OLD Elite, only silence... It's not completely as you say. It's not all drinking and being crazy. One may do anything he/she wishes, drink or be crazy. But it's not that everyone is. The old Elite, say for example: Yip & Stubucrash of Pure Byte, Zados, Axa, Gryzor, Icebreaker/X-Men, Grendel/Byterapers, Zebra,Reward/Scoopex, Moku/ Accession, Hack-Man, Hazor/Beyond Force, Finnish Gold, Hoffi,CC/Bloodsuckers + some else. We aren't all drunk, and there's no way to get to the OLD Elite. Of course it's possible to rise to GROUP/GUYS Elite by making lots of good demos, but to OLD Elite? NOOO! Not by drinking, being crazy or anything. One can't get there, it's a closed INSIDE-RING where outsider's usually have no coming. Exception was Irwin (Masse Von Kaapa) who was in the right place in right time (DDG Digiparty 88, slept under flag-pole and got lost in woods) - he was so ultimately funny looking that no-one could resist him, so he was accepted to our small ring. Friendship, yes. Of course you can chat and go with us in parties, be friends elsewhere but it doesn't give you the friendship of years with other olders, THE feeling one has done something for the scene during the years, THE proudness of being here since the beginning.Neither can GROUP ELITE be reached by drinking (note to Slayer & Zebra: only beer makes it possible, but sure you weren't ALL the time drunk while making Mental Hanged), as who can produce lots of quality things while all time drunk?
